Developer Portal Overview

The developer portal is the web UI for operating an Open Wearables deployment. In a local setup it runs at http://localhost:3000. You sign in with a developer account.

Developer accounts

The first developer account is created automatically on first startup from the ADMIN_EMAIL and ADMIN_PASSWORD environment variables. The seed runs only while no developer account exists, so change the default password from Settings → Change Password right after your first login. Every further account is created by invitation from Settings → Team. There is no self-registration. All developer accounts have the same permissions, see Team.

Sections

The sidebar of the developer portal has the following sections.

Section	What it does
Dashboard	Platform overview and key metrics.
Users	Manage end users and their wearable connections.
Webhooks	Register and monitor outgoing webhook endpoints that receive events when wearable data is ingested. See Outgoing Webhooks.
Syncs	Monitor sync activity across all users and providers. See Live Sync Status for the same data over the API.
Data Coverage	What each provider can deliver, by API layer. See the Wearable API Coverage Matrix.
Settings	Configuration of the deployment, described below.

Settings

Everything that configures a deployment lives under Settings, split into the tabs below.

Tab	What it does
Credentials	API keys for the REST API and application credentials for the Mobile SDK.
Providers	Enable or disable OAuth providers and choose how live data is synced.
Priorities	Decide which provider and device type wins when data overlaps.
Data Lifecycle	Archival and retention policies for time-series data.
Team	Invite and remove developers.
Change Password	Change the password of your own developer account.
Seed Data	Generate synthetic users, workouts, sleep, and time series.
